The mountain ridge at Lauvhatten: Here you can park your bike and take a 10 min. Peak walk up to the right. On a clear day, you can see neighbouring peaks such as Torghatten, Dønnamannen, Vega and “De Syv Søstre”.

Steinstind: Reminiscent of the Rocky Mountains and landscapes from western films.
Solsemshula: Northern Europe’s first known cave drawings. Well marked with signs. Rest area. You are only allowed to enter the cave during guided tours in the summer or through advanced reservations. There are 500 metres of rugged and rocky trail leading to the cave, which is physically closed with a special gate.
Bremneset Point: A stormy spot! Here you get a real “feeling” of the open sea as the waves crash upon the rocks. Show respect and use extreme caution! Exit the road and go right at Aunet (across from the mailbox and bus shelter). Bikes must be wheeled along the last part. The road passes through a farm yard.
Hiking trail network among Leka Mountain: well marked network of trails up to Leka’s highest point (418 masl). Two hour walk round-trip. A sign marks the starting point from the top of little Trongan valley, Briksdalen and Leknes.
Årdalsanden: 1.5 km from rave 562 down to the island’s nice swimming beach which has a rest area and toilet.
Lekamøya: Known sailing landmark (209 masl), which is referred to in the Viking Sagas about the Trollfjell Mountains along the Helgeland coast. About a 45 minute walk and 1.5 km to the top along a marked trail. Enjoy the view of the ocean!
Madsøybrua Bridge: Idyllic fishing spot. 700 m from the main road.
Steinsenteret (Geological Centre): Exhibition and sales of local and other varieties of rocks.
Herlaugshaugen: The largest burial mound in Norway where it is documented that people were buried.
Skeinesset: Marked nature and cultural trail towards the shipping lane and ocean.
Geological Path: The most interesting geological finds around the island are well marked with information in several languages. |
